Since it’s launch, the Casio MDV-106 (as well as the MDV-107 update) has comfortably held the title of ‘best value dive watch’. Known colloquially as the ‘Duro’, it’s been featured in numerous Ben’s Watch Club videos and posts due to its monstrous build quality at an obscenely low price.

In many ways, this watch beats rivals at triple the cost, with surprisingly elegant case finishing, a full 200m water resistance rating (the MDV-107 has ISO certification), a screw-down crown, a tasty bezel action, and a rather attractive sunburst dial…all for peanuts!
If you can handle the monstrous 44mm size, this one really is a no-brainer, just go and grab one! Literally, the only area where this watch doesn't trounce the competition is luminescence; its brightness is average.
The MDV-106 and MDV-107 are virtually identical, outside of some incredibly minor differences, including the absence of the fish icon on the 107, but either will more than do the job. They each come in a variety of colors and each has the same size and specifications, so happy shopping!
Here’s one major word of warning. Casio recently released a ‘38mm’ version of the Duro…it’s not nearly as good as the original, with reduced build quality and slashed water performance. So, don’t bother with that model!
