Seiko Presage Cocktail Time 39.5mm ‘The Aviation’ (Blue Version)
Underwhelming on paper, this mid-range Seiko SRPJ commands its higher price tag with a dial more than worthy of the ‘Cocktail Time’ name. Seriously, you’ve got to view this one on video to see what I mean.
The microscopic, ridged texture makes this model look phenomenal in sunlight, easily surpassing all comers at its price. Admittedly, it’s naughty of Seiko to forego sapphire at a price where it should certainly be standard; you’ll have to deal with Hardlex mineral! Additionally, the case finishing is basic.
Chances are though, you won’t be bothered…you’ll be too busy staring at that dial. This newer 39.5mm variant comes in several different colors for your amusement. While we could only get our hands on the blue option, the unusual brown ‘Irish Coffee’ option really took our fancy and is perhaps worth first dibs.
