Arguably the best affordable digital watch, the Casio A700 is a new offering, designed as a modern alternative to the ageing Casio A158W. Although the latter is undoubtedly a great watch (being my daily driver for several years), the A700 is just a better; both functionally and aesthetically.
I reviewed this watch in early 2020 and was very impressed with the improvements. Not only does this feature a slick, thin case design which is incredibly comfortable, but it also includes higher quality finishing, a better bracelet and a much stronger backlight than its predecessor. For a durable, versatile digital watch at just £30, this is as good as it gets. It’s also available in two colourways, the grey option being my pick.
